KBLOG 62. A Great Website for Young Inventors & their Teachers & Parents

The Challenge:

Young people are eager to invent and learn about the connection between entrepreneurship and inventing. Parents and teachers should take advantage of that eagerness. As in previous KBLOGS (53, 49, 48, 47, 44, 43. 35. 34, 33, 32. 29, 15, 14) there are wide range of resources for adults to guide students through the inventing process. When you have too many options it can become overwhelming and often leads to frustration for the educator/parent trying to guide their student/child. I identify one resource that is logically organized, encompass advice for all age groups and has excellent resources.

A Solution:

I would suggest that you try out the website EquIP HQ. The site is loaded with practical invention advice for students organized into four grade bands (k-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 and a teacher and family section. Below is a list of its outstanding and practical aspects:

1.      Games and Activities

2.     Videos of age-appropriate student inventors explaining their inventions

3.     Videos of adult inventors talking about their inventions and the inventing process

4.    Invention challenges

5.    A library of age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
