The Challenge:

Not all schools have large budgets and lots of science equipment. Many do not have enough time in their schedule, time for the teacher to set up labs, or even free and empty lab classrooms available to set up experiments without students in them. Homeschooling parents or parents who want to supplement their children’s science education do not ways have access to laboratory material and equipment or they may not have the experience to help their children with hands-on science activities. Other educators want to add additional innovative experiments to their repertoire. Personally, as a teacher, I made sure that each school year I added at least five new hands-on experiences for my students, getting rid of ones that were becoming stale and old.  If anything, that I have written so far resonates with you, have a look at the website Science take outYou can even use the science kits shown on their website for clubs, museums, scouts and even birthday parties!

A Solution:

Science take out (STO) is a company that has unique products, in the form of elegantly designed science kits, that are well explained for both students and educators.   Their kits are organized into eleven specific categories within the broad topic of life sciences.  You can search for kits through their website which succinctly summarizes each kit, with a downloadable teacher guide and the correlated Next Generation Science Standards for primary, middle and high school students depending on the particular lab activity.  The company, according to their website, has the following goals for their kits, emphasis on active inquiry, student and teacher friendly, cost-effective and usable in diverse learning environments.  There kits are relevant and connected to real world scenarios, which students can relate to.  Including topics such as forensics, food poisoning and genetic engineering.  Check their website out.

I just want to make it clear that I do not work for this company, I am not associated with them in any way and I am not receiving any compensation from them for this post.  I have used their kits in the past.
