KBLOG 54: “I am Worried About My Grade” Humor for Teachers and Parents
I am certain that most parents and teachers have heard the statement from a child or student:
“I am worried about my grade.”
Grades bring out anxiety in teachers, parents and students. The grade tide is always changing, should we use grades? Is there too much pressure and competition related to grades? What effect do grades have on self-esteem? Controversy about grading abound. Which is the best system for grading? Should grades be used at all? Why is there so much grade inflation? And what does grade inflation do in terms of telling the truth about student achievement? Does grade inflation give students unrealistic evaluation of one’s achievement and success?
Questions abound and I am not going to try to answer all those questions now.
BUT
I thought that this humorous short clip (linked below) will at least bring a smile to people’s face when it comes to grade. I am sure we can all relate to the scenario in the video.
