The Challenge:

A central part of STEM education is learning about, collecting, understanding, visualizing and manipulating data. It is important for our students to get experience with data throughout all grades. Many educators are not confident in their own skills as they relate to their students’ using data. How do you teach data skills at an age-appropriate level, what kinds of data-related activities can a teacher or homeschooler present to students?

Dataspire’s landing page states, “Data + Inspire = Dataspire, we inspire and empower educators and students to engage confidently with data and science in their daily lives?

A Solution:

In many previous KBLOGS I presented free resources that can be used to help enhance the data skills of your students. I, in fact, mentioned Dataspire in previous KBLOGS. I just saw that Dataspire has just launched a YouTube channel. They advertise the channel as follows:

Join us on a journey towards a more data and science literate society. Our weekly video tips every Friday and live sessions each week are designed to inspire and empower you with insights, strategies, and tips.

The videos are short insightful and cover many topics related to what the people at Dataspire believe (according to their website:

We believe that every citizen as informed members of our society and our democracy, needs to be data and science literate.

Check out some of their videos.
